draft v0.9 — effective on first paid task

Contributor Terms

This is a working draft of the relationship between you and tact. It takes effect when you accept your first paid task. A counsel-reviewed contributor agreement and tax forms will be finalized before any payment is made.

The short version: you are paid when a clip is accepted, you never pay us anything, and joining the waitlist guarantees nothing on its own.

You are paid on acceptance

Every task shows its payout and its rules before you record. A trained human reviews each submission. Accepted clips are paid at the listed rate. If a clip is rejected, you always see the exact reason — most rejections are fixable framing or privacy issues.

No fees, ever

Contributors never pay anything to join tact or to take part. We will never ask you for payment, deposits, or equipment purchases.

You must be 18 or older

Contributing is limited to adults aged 18 and over.

What you record is your choice

You only ever record tasks you choose and are comfortable with, following the recording rules — no children, guests, private documents, screens, addresses, or sensitive information in frame.

Rights to accepted clips

You keep ownership of your footage. When a clip is accepted and paid, you grant tact a license to process it and include it — in privacy-reviewed, anonymized form — in datasets licensed to robotics teams. We do not use rejected clips.

No guaranteed access or earnings

Joining the waitlist, completing your profile, or referring friends can improve your matching priority, but it never guarantees task access, acceptance, or earnings.

Payment method and timing

The payout method and the timing after acceptance are confirmed before your first paid task, so you always know how and when you will be paid before you record anything.
